June 2025 has been full of DALs from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). The latest, issued June 11, 2025, “Emergency Preparedness Reminder,” (DACF 25-21 / DNH 25-13) is for New York nursing home and adult care facility administrators and includes the following:
- Reminder that both nursing homes and adult facilities are required to meet minimum disaster and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Availability of a CEMP template and training provided by NYSDOH.
- Information regarding eFINDS, including expectations for roles. There is also an eFINDS course available for providers.

The DAL states that based on recent emergencies in LTC facilities, NYSDOH will be reviewing facilities emergency plans and eFINDS competencies as part of its QA and surveillance processes.
