Work With the Best in Post-Acute Compliance

CMS Compliance Group consultants are seasoned post-acute and long-term care professionals who have been in their clients' shoes — as Directors of Nursing, Assistant Directors of Nursing, and Quality Assurance leaders in nursing homes and other post-acute settings. That firsthand experience is what makes CMSCG's consulting work credible, effective, and different from firms that approach compliance from the outside in.

Joining CMSCG means working alongside a team of interdisciplinary experts who take their work seriously, stay current with a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, and are committed to helping providers deliver the highest quality of care. It also means doing meaningful, challenging work — the kind where your experience and expertise actually matter every single day.

Senior-level work

CMSCG engages consultants as the expert in the room — working with administrators, DONs, and leadership teams to address the most challenging compliance issues in the field.

Interdisciplinary team

You'll work alongside experienced consultants across every post-acute discipline — clinical, environmental, dietary, social services, behavioral health, and more.

Current, active practice

CMSCG consultants are in facilities every week — which means your knowledge stays current and your work remains grounded in what's actually happening in the field.

RN Clinical Consultant

Full-Time & Part-Time Available

CMS Compliance Group, Inc. is a regulatory compliance and quality improvement consulting firm working with post-acute and long-term care providers across the country. We are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurse Clinical Consultants to join our team in the Greater New York City area.

CMSCG Clinical Consultants work on-site with client providers to deliver a wide range of compliance and quality improvement services. At the conclusion of every site visit, a comprehensive written report is provided to facility administration — a roadmap for developing and implementing meaningful corrective action.

What You'll Do

  • Pre- and post-survey assistance — mock surveys, quality reviews, Plan of Correction development and implementation, directed in-service training, and corrective action monitoring
  • Development and implementation of clinical protocols
  • Medical record and chart auditing
  • Staff skills assessment and observation
  • Education and training at the departmental and individual level — including mentoring of Directors of Nursing and middle-management staff
  • Written comprehensive site visit reports delivered to administration following each engagement

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 7 years of nursing administration experience at the Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) level, or in a Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement position in a nursing home or post-acute setting
  • Intimate knowledge of CMS regulatory requirements and the Long-Term Care Survey Process (LTCSP)
  • Ability to develop and assist with the implementation of clinical protocols
  • Proven track record of assisting organizations in achieving strong clinical outcomes in regulatory compliance reviews
  • Thorough understanding of the clinical auditing process
  • Comfort with group education and individual interaction at both the administrative and departmental level
  • Strong report writing skills — writing samples will be required
  • Excellent computer skills including strong proficiency in Microsoft Word; familiarity with Excel and Outlook beneficial

Location & Travel

  • Position is based in the Greater New York City area — relocation assistance is not available
  • Full-time consultants should expect regular travel throughout the NY Tri-State area as well as routine out-of-state travel based on client assignments
  • Part-time consultants (3 days per week) should expect regular travel throughout the NY Tri-State area; out-of-state travel may be required on an as-needed basis
  • All candidates must be willing and able to accept travel assignments as required
Before you apply: Joining CMSCG is a significant commitment on both sides. We invest considerable time and resources in onboarding every consultant, and we look for candidates who bring the full package — senior post-acute experience, Greater NYC location, and genuine availability to travel. If that's you, we want to talk.
