In a letter sent to all State Survey Agency Directors on May 20, 2014, “Final Rule – Promoting Program Efficiency, Transparency, and Burden Reduction, Part II – Informational Only,” CMS provided a recap of key parts of CMS-3267-F. One of these includes the limited circumstances where an extension may be granted for nursing homes that do not yet have fully automatic sprinkler systems in place.
