In a September 1, 2017 S&C memo, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provided information on the publicly-available online training on Emergency Preparedness. The Emergency Preparedness Basic Surveyor Training Course is required for all RO and SA surveyors. Surveys for Emergency Preparedness begins November 15, 2017, and surveyors must have completed the course before they can survey for these requirements.
