CMS Proposed Rule for Fire Safety Requirements (Federal Register)

On April 16, 2014, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published its proposed rule to revise the edition of the Life Safety Code (LSC) that is mentioned in the Requirements for long term care facilities and other providers. In an S&C Letter, “Publication of Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (MPRM) for Fire Safety Requirements – Informational Only,” CMS provides the link to the proposed rule in the Federal Register and notes that the comment period will be open through June 16, 2014. The Agency had proposed the update on April 14, which can be viewed in this CMSCG blog post, “CMS Proposes Updated to NFPA 2012 Edition of Life Safety Code.”
