The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has made its update to the Nursing Home Compare website which utilized Q1 2018 staffing information with submitted Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) data. The public use files have also been updated, which now includes information on hours worked by non-nursing staff. CMS announced at a SNF Open Door Forum in June that it would also begin distinguishing between direct employees and contract staff in this update.
The next deadline to submit PBJ staffing data is August 14, 2018 (for reporting April 1, 2018 to June 30, 2018 staffing hours).
