Staffing’s Impact on the Five Star Rating (Long Term Living)

Please join CMS Compliance Group President Linda Elizaitis for a complimentary Long Term Living webinar, “Staffing’s Impact on the Five Star Rating” on March 5, 2015.

The Five Star Rating System continues to evolve as more revisions to determine quality ratings for skilled nursing facilities are developed. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced that sample focused surveys are going to be used nationwide to assess reported staffing, as well as quality measure information, which are set to begin in 2015.

This webinar will assess the plan for the Five Star Quality Rating System to begin using payroll based staffing data and how it may affect the current staffing practices of a number of nursing homes.  The speaker will also talk about the periodic electronic reporting of staffing data and how that will negate such practices as “staffing up” ahead of an expected survey. Finally, how the IMPACT Act of 2014 has provided funding for CMS to implement electronic reporting of staffing reporting, which means there are going to be changes to SNF staffing practices.
