The Foundation for Quality Care (FQC) has been invited to NBC 4 in New York City for a live interview at tonight at 7:00 PM EST regarding its OASIS (Dementia Care) Master Trainer Program. Dr. Susan Wehry, who is the Commissioner of the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living in Vermont and the Author of the program will be participating in the interview, along with Gayle Farman. The FQC, an affiliate of the New York State Health Facilities Association, is spreading the word about OASIS, a person-centered approach to dementia care for residents in nursing homes. Susan Wehry, M.D., Commissioner, Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living, in Vermont, and author of the program, conducted the training on August 27 to establish 17 Master Trainers for New York, and an additional 9 Trainers for MA, VT, and CT.
